  1. October is the time for windfall apples. Collect a few and pop in the bottom of a vase or dish.
  2. Fill the container with water.
  3. Add seasonal flowers - try to use the same colour as the apples for a really dramatic look.

Idea submitted by Nikki Chisholm . Great idea, Nikki! Waxy fruit like apples will last well submerged in water, but remember to change the water regularly. Pictured is an orange dahlia with crabapples - perfect for Autumn or Hallowe'en parties.
